The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Modeller to join our team on an immediate basis to support a live M&A transaction. You will be a central member of the deal team, responsible for building and maintaining the financial model underpinning due diligence for a significant acquisition. The model will be a cornerstone deliverable for equity investors preparing an Investment Committee submission, and must meet the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and analytical rigour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own a comprehensive financial model to support M&A due diligence, including detailed operating, financing, and returns analysis.

  • Produce investment returns analysis (IRR, MOIC, equity bridge) structured for presentation to equity investors at Investment Committee.

  • Synthesise financial, operational, and market data to produce scenario and sensitivity analyses that stress-test key transaction assumptions.

  • Collaborate closely with the advisory deal team, legal advisers, and client stakeholders to ensure the model reflects evolving transaction dynamics.

  • Prepare clear, Board-ready model outputs, schedules, and supporting commentary suitable for IC packs.

  • Identify and flag financial risks and structural issues arising through the modelling process.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Background in Investment Banking or Private Equity, with direct experience supporting M&A transactions through financial modelling.

  • Demonstrable experience building complex, integrated financial models from scratch — including three-statement models, LBO or acquisition structures, and waterfall / returns analyses.

  • Strong understanding of due diligence processes and what equity investors require for IC submissions.

  • Advanced Excel skills; financial modelling best practices and audit-ready model construction are essential.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work at pace within a live transaction environment.

  • Immediate availability — the role requires a prompt start to meet deal timelines.

Desirable

  • Experience modelling Real Estate assets, portfolios, or PropCo/OpCo structures.

  • Familiarity with Real Estate-specific metrics including NIY, topped-up NIY, WAULT, ERV analysis, and development appraisals.

  • Exposure to real estate debt structures and financing assumptions within an acquisition model.
