ReachX is hiring for a leading German fintech startup revolutionizing the financial industry with innovative solutions. As they navigate a transition period following the departure of the current CFO, the client is seeking a highly skilled Interim Chief Finance Officer to bridge the gap until a permanent replacement is found. This is a short-term contract role that offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and success.
Role Description:
As the Interim Chief Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in the client's organization, leveraging your extensive experience in fintech and start-ups to drive financial stability and growth.
Your primary responsibilities will include fundraising, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, financial reporting, risk management, M&A support, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising: Collaborate with the founder to quickly raise a venture capital round, utilizing your expertise in securing funding for start-ups.

Financial Planning and Analysis: Review and validate existing budget and business plan, ensuring alignment with the client's strategic goals and objectives.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, conduct thorough cash flow forecasting, and optimize working capital management to ensure financial stability.

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, enabling effective decision-making by the board of directors and key stakeholders.

Risk Management: Assess financial risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement effective controls to safeguard our financial interests.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Conduct financial due diligence, perform valuation analysis, provide negotiation support, and contribute to integration planning for potential M&A activities.

Stakeholder Communications: Present financial reports, updates, and strategic recommendations to the board of directors and key investors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring transparency.
Requirements:

Proven experience at a similar level in a fintech/start-up environment, successfully navigating the challenges unique to this sector.

Track record of raising capital for start-ups, demonstrating exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Strong financial planning and analysis expertise, with the ability to review and validate budgets and business plans.

Proficiency in cash flow management, including forecasting and working capital optimization.

Experience in risk management, including identifying and mitigating financial risks.

Familiarity with M&A processes, financial due diligence, and valuation analysis.

Fluency in English (German language skills would be advantageous but not essential).

Experience from a top firm e.g. Investment Bank, Corporate or Consultancy

Previous experience working for a German Fintech would be highly desirable
